Why you should be a soul winner

Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”( Matthew 28:18-28:20)

Last time we discovered that soul winning is supposed to be done by everyone who is born again and that we don’t have any excuse because wining one soul a day is good enough. Today I want us to look at reasons we should be soul winners.

Why we should be soul winners

1. We are commanded to be soul winners

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.( Mark 16:15)

The last command that our Lord and Saviour gave to us is that we should be soul winners. In the book of Matthew He said we should make disciples and teach them to observe the things He has taught us. You are supposed to have people who come to you for advice before they go to the pastor, you are supposed to have your own students whom you teach the Word of God and help them develop. Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”( Matthew 28:18-28:20).

2. Love

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.( John 3:16)

If God loved us to the point of sending His son whom He loves more than any human or angel, why shouldn’t we sacrifice our most priced possessions for the sake of winning souls, why should we shouldn’t we sacrifice the money we saved to by the iPhone or Mercedes that we have wanted for so long and give the money so that it will be used to finance crusades and missionaries. Why don’t we sacrifice watching our favorite shows and movies and take part in crusades and missionary work. Now the large group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one said that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common.( Acts 4:32).

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.( Matthew 22:39)

You can’t claim to love people and your actions not testify of that love you say you have. The Bible says we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves and since we don’t want to go to hell we shouldn’t want to see our neighbors go to hell. We should feel pain when our neighbors are in lack especially if they lack Christ and we should do something to make sure they don’t lack. For there was not a needy person among them, because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,( Acts 4:34)

3. It is a wise thing to do

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.( Proverbs 11:30)

As children of God we have the wisdom of Christ and we should think like Him, and since He saw saving the world worth His crucifixion and death we are also supposed to see winning souls worth having some discomfort or inconvenience I your lives. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.( 1 Corinthians 2:16). I saw this because we don’t just win souls by your words but our hands and pockets must also be involved because we are supposed to also minister to them in substance. Anyone who is born again by default is a philanthropist because God has instructed us to take care of the needy. A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.( Acts 10:2). For there was not a needy person among them, because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,( Acts 4:34)

These reasons are more than enough for us to validate our participation in soul winning, so let us join the Lords work force and gather His harvest and bring glory to His name by spreading it wherever we are.

Soul winning

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.( Proverbs 11:30)

I’d like to welcome you all you the first softteachings message for 2019, let this be the year we focus more on doing the work of the Lord, grow in our faith and spirit.

Soul winning is something many of us have left for only the pastors, prophets, evangelists and teachers of the Word, and this happens because many of us believe that the job for preaching is for those whom God has called To be in the fivefold ministries, but the truth is that those who are in the fivefold ministries are supervisors and they supervise US (me and you). Jesus died for everybody so it stands to reason that anyone who has received Him should also testify of Him and the good works He has done.

Ladies and gentlemen preaching the gospel is advertising the Kingdom of God and there is no body who does not advertise one product or another, because any product or service we recommend or speak good of we are basically advertising that product or service, hence neither of us has any excuse for not being apart of the soul winning work force. You don’t have to be called a minister or pastor to share the Word because we are all called to do it despite your position in society. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.( Mark16:15-16)

For many are called, but few are chosen.( Matthew 22:14)

The above scripture is loved by those who preach and those who don’t, those who preach us this verse to make themselves feel special while the latter uses it as an excuse for not preaching the gospel. You don’t have to be in a church or surrounded by tens, hundreds or thousands of people for you to preach one is more than enough, Rome wasn’t built one day but everyday a new brick as added to it, even in the Kingdom a soul a day is great progress. This is just an introduction I’ll continue to share more on this topic on Thursday but before I conclude let me share something a dear friend once shared with me concerning the above verse.

” Many are called but few are chosen, because few respond to the call of God”, this means that the reason there are only a few work in the department of soul winning is because many refuse to obey the Holy Spirit when He tells me to preach to an individual, there is a reason why you are always thinking about a person you saw in your neighborhood who isn’t born again and that reason isn’t for you to laugh or gossip the person but for you to reach out and share the message of salvation through Christ Jesus, ignoring that thought about the person sitting equivalent to disobey the instruction of the Holy Spirit. So my question to you is, will you continue to be disobedient or will you change your ways and obey Him by doing his work.

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;( Matthew 9:37)
